I'd have said cause I don't have the other 25K I'd need to buy something decent, and I'm not a silly nuts who'd get into all sorts of finance for a depreciating asset that I'm never going to own!

I'd rather save up and make my GTI perfect, to have something that will do a big poo over most new cars and I will actually own myself, AND will be different, special and interesting to boot.
Word!

Apparently only 27% of 11000 odd people asked on MSN would trade their old car for 2k off a new one, which I was quite surprised, yet cheered up by.

You don't own a Mk2, you support it.

Don't get me wrong i have had my fair share of new cars, however i always sold them for what i paid if not more as i was buying them tax free, however i can't wait to get rid of my 2003 scoobie to get at least 2 mk2's, i love them and wish i had never sold my last one that i had and had got rid of the scoobie then, then i wouldn't be saving up to replace the syncros on 3rd before i get rid.
