What would be quicker, the 2.0 MK4 or the 2.0 8v MK3?

BTW the 2.0 MK4's are great cars, just not fast. Loved mine.

Nothing in it, the MK3 is lighter so will have a better power to weight ratio, but I doubt you would notice any difference.

By most of the time do you mean when they've been modded? I reckon they look really good stock, especially the GTI spec.

Some modded ones can look nice! Not really a fan of them in standard form.

Hows that? Its probs just cheaper now as you have more NCB and more years driving as the 1.8T is a higher insurance group than the 2.0 so impossible for it to be cheaper.

not always the case, insurance companies go on 3 things normally; insurance group of the car (the biggest factor), how many times the insurance company has had a claim against that model of car (can affect premium alot) and the area you live in.

it could be that your insurance company has had more claims for 2.0L 8v GTi's, than they have for 1.8T GTi's.

i know this as i actually asked an insurance advisor, and was told this. explains how convertible cars are higher to insure, have alot more claims for convertibles being broken into, etc.....
