Rub them down with either sand paper or wire brush-then hammerite them!, will be doing this to mine next month when I take the wheels off again.
Oh, and congrats on the purchase, enjoy!

Update for you all:

Went to local VW yesterday morning, im now on their system, booked in for next saturday to look at the 2 light condensation problems, leather seat (doubtful with that) and the centre caps, also they offered to do a full check on the car for any other warranty stuff, happy with that.

Having a chat with there sales next week about extended warranty though I may go with warranty direct or click4warranty

Gave the car a 5 hour clean yesterday, looks superb now, even though i missed a few bits, lol. Had all 4 wheels off, sanded down and hammerited the hubs, cleaned underneath and cleaned and sealed the wheels with poorboys wheel sealent (Good Stuff). Will gets pics up tomorrow to show.

Liquid leather has arrived yet so still got to do that. Fitting my black tax disc holder later when it cools down, first and cheapest mod, wonder where that will lead with the forums encouragment

Thanks again for all your advice.

pictures to show cleaned and sealed wheels with painted hubs:

Been looking at extended car warranties: quotes so far:

warrantydirect: £443 1 year Extracare (franchise dealer)
click4warranty: £467 5 star cover (network dealer) 3 years
car2cover: £572 premier plus (franchise dealer) 2 years
Warrantywise: £568 2 years £50 per hour labour rate

Thinking of going with click4warranty, £467 top level cover for 3 years, not to bad.

Yeah had a spray can in the garage, did the old spray into the lid then paint it on with a brush.

Just bought click4warranty just under £500 for 3 years cover.

The can I used was the hammerite High Heat resistance quick dry one. My old man bought it for his motorbike not long ago and was just enough left for me. It litterally dryed within minutes, not even tacky to touch.

I just took the wheel off wire brushed the hub down, gave the discs / calipers a wipe with a cloth, painted the hub. Whilst I gave it chance to defo be dry, I cleaned the wheel and sealed it with poorboys, which took 15 mins. then put the wheel back on.

Had it back yesterday after being in for the day, dealers were great to be fair. Heres what happen:

Centre Caps (white worm) - All replaced under warranty

Drivers Wing Mirror Indicator Light (Condensation) - Light is working so its just the case, wasnt replaced as there is a crack, i.e last owner must have clipped it, tried the "frost" got to it, no luck.  :undecided:

Rear High Line Brake light (Condensation) - Told them to inspect and record it on the system to replace in the future as you guys said its a spoiler off job. They fixed it! basically carefully braking the old one out and fitting the new one! Good job.

Drivers Leather Bolster - Even though it only has 7K on the clock, they just said wear and tear  :undecided:

Clutch Pedal Sticking Problem - Fixed myself

It had a health check and once over for anything else and any recalls, plus I had the auto-lock enabled as ive only got midline trip.

Summary - Well happy with the service, needs a clean (asked dealers not to) and going to treat the leather myself.

Anyone have a guide how to replace the wing mirror indicator?
