vin plate

might sound like a daft question but where should the vin plate be on an 8 valve

Mounted on the inner wing, next to the drivers side (RH) bonnet hinge, could be covered in dirt etc, so look carefully :wink:

thanks thom89 i been looking at one yesterday and it was mounted on the inner wing like you said, i was a bit suspicious i always thought the vin plate went on the front slam panel.

its also on the scuttle tray, if you look at the plastic trim it should have a square cutout. some have a 'window' in, which you cant see thu as its all old and manky  :grin:

Could that also be what the random yellow barcode is on my car? I know my VIN is on the scuttle - always wondered what the yellow doo dah was.
