As john said 16v and vr6 clocks go to 160 mph and the 8v clocks goto 140mph so the clocks you have got in are the right clocks for your car...

This is true 100%.

Ani clocks were white, and i think early to late dials changed the design slightly as i have seen different ones in different cars of the same engine type. But aslong as u have the correct speedo for the car, then they will read right.

It does read about 5-7 mph out as per my navman but I cant remember which way? And mike I'm not sure whether these are the right dials as it's a 16v and the clock's read 140? Unless Vw put 140 in later models for some reason it looks like I have the wrong clock's!

Well i have an 8v, same dials as you but the petrol gauge is diferent, with 4 red lines.

The speedo will read out, its an old car mate. Mine is about 5mph out 70mph.

The dials are deffinaly the correct 8v dials, what year is your car?

You dont have a problem, so dont worry about it. There were a lot of developments in the eira that the mk3 was made, hence why they differ early to late.

Yeah I put it down to the calibration at the time I was just repling to the question. It's a 97 P 16v. Is there anyway of me checking a part number off the clock's too the rest of the car to see if their right? It's not a major issue it's just pecking my head!

Cheer's for the reply's anyway!

any mk3 clocks will plug in and work fine..but the 16v should have 160mph on the speeedo (although some early models have a speedo that starts at 10mph with a needle rest)
