But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

I have a valance if you're interested. It's from a small bumper 16v so also has the brake ducts and i'm sure i've got the inner arches too, so it all clips together nicely

Did you get limited mileage on the insurance? And did you get an agreed value?

Looking to reinsure mine in a few months.

See you at Combe

Yeah it's limited to 5K a year. Agreed value is a kind of. From what I understand they replace everything like for like so if the car was a total loss then I would claim for a Golf and all the bits that were on mine.

The trackday cover is £50 a day and your excess is doubled (mine would therefore be £400). The only thing is they don't cover Combe, ha ha. Apparently the claims from Combe when they did were more than all the other circuits added together.

5k a year isn't bad. The HIC insurance fully comp covered you for trackdays without any extra payment and no extra excess as long as they were properly organised events but I'm not sure they do this anymore. I'll look into it when I renew. I did have some details of a seperate trackday insurance that cost £10 per £1000 value of car per event, and this included engine blowing up as well, I'll see if I can find the details.

Thanks for the info

Paul
