Good to see that leg done... didn't realise how bad it was... what bits have you been pricing up then?

Plan for this weekend is to re-fit the front cross member and front engine mount. Then strip the other wing off, remove both doors, remove all glass and polycarb windows, remove arch trims to see what's underneath, strip new bootlid and start removing more rust!

A good day on the car today.

Bonnet, drivers door and wing off, polycarb windows removed:

Some panels:

Windscreen out and the grot was a little worse than I thought but nothing tha can't be easily sorted:

More panels off:

Bumper and lights removed:

Front cross member reffited:

If I put the battery back in it would still drive like this. Quite tempting!

All tucked up for the night:

Tomorrow will be some grinder action!

Another day, another load of pics:

Chopped out the rotten bit of scuttle panel:

Drivers side rear window surround also has a bit of grot:

Then started wire wheeling the back panel to see what was lurking under the paint and filler from when it has been replaced in the past:

Also attacked the inner rear wheel arch with the wire wheel and rust inspecting hammer. Another hole to weld up!

That's it for this week. Roll on next weekend and more grinding, cutting and wire wheeling.

looks like you are really getting stuck in! are you going to locally paint the bits or all over?

It's going to get painted in and out without the panels on in white with the panels done on their own. It'll then be put back together and the stripes sprayed on before the glass/polycarb goes back it and the trims go back on.

Got about 13 weeks till the trackday. Gulp!
