help!!! mk3 glove box barrel removal

does anyone know how to take the barrel out of the glove box handle ive  relaced the handle but the barrel just wont come out there must be a trick to it

I had to break one of the clips that holds it in then prise it out with a flathead screwdriver :/

Its a hassle but does come out

Yea, gently bend the clips back & it'll just push out, had to do mine when the catch broke.
