ashley competition exhausts
« on: 07 May 2009, 16:44 »
Really starting to like them. I think they sound very good.
Been looking around on the net and can get a full system for under £200. Thing is they dont list mk3 gti 8v, only mk3 1.4l, gti 16v and VR6. Doesnt anyone know where I can find a system for a gti 8v? Or maybe would a mk2 8v system fit?

They're sh!te.

I had one on my mk2, the fit was appauling. Sold it to a mate (he knew it was a shoddy fit) and within 3 months the welds were cracked where the pipes enter the silencer. Ashley didn't want to know as i didn't have the original receipt, which i suppose is understandable, but the thing was quite clearly brand new. Anyway, he welded it up a couple of times and ended up chucking it after a year.....

I cant find the OMP exhaust for mk3 though. Had a look all over google but no luck. Anyone know any pages that sell it?

You know what, it may well have been an OMP rather than Ashley, i'm not sure now! I'll try and find out, it was a couple of years ago though :undecided:
