Is this worth it? - UPDATE- Car from Dubai

I hate to bump but I am considering putting in an offer on this tomorrow so would appreciate any thoughts.

My GTI is the same year and spec so I'm sure it's from the same batch from Dubai. I've had no problems with mine. Check the wheels for "white worm". The import agent I dealt with had all four wheels exchanged under warranty before I saw it. The only thing not matching UK spec that I've found is that there is no factory alarm otherwise full UK spec. As you're in Jersey I guess the lack of alarm may not be too much of a problem....

Thanks Dubbin.  There are some scuffs on the rims and areas where it just looks like the laquer has come away.  Will probably get them refurbed anyway.  Good to here yours is still going strong.

The alarm is if no real concern as car theft in Jersey is practically unheard of.

The dealer brought the price down to £14,500 and will also include 12 months 3rd party warranty (worth £500).  Seems like a fair price now considering the spec.

Was your PDI done by the same dealer in Dubai?

Just a thought but I suggest you check with your insurer as they may offer insurance on a different basis for a non-UK spec car.

Moops - Yes my PDI was also at Al Nabooda around the same time. Last year I visited Dubai on business and dropped in to see them but nobody there knew much about these cars.

I think I'm quite happy now so I'll pobably give the dealer a call next week and accept his offer
