The good bits:
The extra bit of 'oomph' on my 8v after passing 60mph in 3rd (rev counter doesn't work!)
The fact it just pulls and pulls and the engine feels comfortable and refined at any speed
The grip when accelerating hard around a tight-ish corner
Remembering after half an hour of driving that the throttle pedal actually goes down a lot further than you've been using it
The front grille (quads+red stipe+black VW badge+'GTI')
The golf ball shaped gear knob
The dash warning LEDs
The look on chav Corsa driver's face in the rear-view mirror!

The bad bits:
Finding out that you can get fewer and fewer new parts from your local VAG (ebay makes up for some of this though!)
The realisation that it will die before most other cars on the road
1992 VW Golf MK2 GTI
1995 VW Corrado VR6

when you polished it on a summers day, an then you park it up down at local pub by the river on the nite, it just looks so nice compared 2 other cars along side it

The fact it's on a K plate

The look on mk2 owners face when they see the switch on the dash for the electric sunroof

The look of it and the comments I get near enough every day, from strangers admiring it! Condition, bearing in mind it's coming up to 20 years old!!! The way you can chuck it into a corner at pretty much whatever speed you like and come out facing the same way!!!!!

I love everything about my MK2!

The fact I have no PAS, no E/W or C/L but a car that goes round corners like it was on rails and pulls like a train in every gear.

Makes me smile everytime I drive it, and the attention and respect it gets from the "Modern" car owners is amazing.

Best car ever.

The view from the front, nothing meaner.....

.....it used to be the sound of the engine but now it makes a horrid tapping sound and I can't fix it!!!!!
Who would have thought that reverting back to standard would be this expensive!!!!

The way my Scorpion DTM exhaust changes pitch and whine as she powers through the revs

sounds like a symphony orchestra or something.

The fact that I have finally got the car I could only dream of owning when I was 20 (19 years ago)

A very original, oak green, big bumper valver
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
