i had a gti 8 valve before my first vr6 ( i have had 3 now) when i got my gti the next week my mate got a vr6 took me for a drive..........and i sold my gti the next week. trust me if you drive a vr6 you wont want to go backwards even a turbo gti, i would rather put a turbo on my vr. my last vr6 was 220 bhp but had some good mods on the engine. this one i have done nothing to and done 177bhp for a 15 year old car with 140000 on the clocks is s**t hot.
iv had a vr before mate, it was my mates but i was the driver of it, i now got a 8v haha, tbh the vr didnt impress, it was alot slower than my swift GTI which is only a 1.3 hahaha (although 158bhp), not sayin the vr is bad but jsut your message above dont really ring true, not for me anyhow
would deffo much rather have a 20vt unde rthe hood than a vr lump, thats is a deffo!!!, BAM all the way, VR dont handle aswell as the 8v either, far too much weight up front
