i have the odd one going for 50 notes on fleabay. it's quite easy to replace too. Just a trim removal plastic wedgy thing and some torx screws. unplug the old one, plug in the new one, screw in and click back into place. did see a tutorial somewhere and if i find it i'll post the link.

....How about removing the plastic wedgy thingy and wrapping it in carbonskin vinyl?

searched high and low for the tutorial. I remember it had something to do with installing a silver ashtray lid and the guy had to remove the dsg gear stick to get access to the ashtray assembly. Sorry

To change the DSG gear stick lever assembly it needs to be in D or S mode and then switch off the engine to remove it.

My understanding is that you CAN replace just the knob. But I can't find anything on where to get one
