coilover kit

okay im planning ahead here! im going to fit a coilover kit and i was just wondering about adjusting the height! do you have to take the wheel off to adjust the height? also how will you know that both sides have been lowered the same amount? is there somesort of guage?

sorry for dumb questions  :grin:

yeah when u need to change the ride height, u will need to take the wheel off. when we done my bro-in-laws vr we just measured from the bottom of the strut to where we were setting the height to. make sure u lube the strut coz they can seize and make it a pig to adjust, as i found out on my old gti, in the end had to take struts out!!!!!!

you mesure them up by mesuring between a fixed point on the lower strut to the bottom spring plate.. as for how low to go you have to try it and see whats right. and yeah its much easier to jack the wheel off (you have to jack the car anyway)
