took it for a drive to lancashire (nelson) and then to blackburn to see my unc in hospital who had a 7 hour op and then back to nelson and then back home 300mile trip not bad with £45 of fuel (v power). not bad but could do better

Swapped the rears from a knackered cup kit to coilies. No more rubbing but harsh ride means no teeth left

drove 150mile round trip to thatcham for an interview, car never missed a beat, surpised the life out of a civic type r and got tailgated by a farking w4nker in a new scirroco outside thatcham on the a4 where there was no possiblity of him overtaking due to traffic, but no he had to sit like 4feet from my bumper the knob
what is it with new volkswagen owners when they are behind an old vw  :huh:

Dunno mate, think they get a fast car and believe everyone should get outta their way because they are so fast and how dar the traffic get in their way they are busy people with things to do!!

I don't think it makes a difference if its new or old. Theres a lot of idiot VW drivers out there. Im regular tailgated by mk4 especially but also mk5, mk3 and mk2 owners when in the mk6. But wehn im in the mk1 it seems to be mk3, mk4 or mk5 owners. I know from the early mk5 days there was a huge amount of BMW drivers got the GTI mk5 and brought with them there driving habbits. :sad:

had the mk4 fully tinted got her home then fitted the new german pressed plates id brought and also did the gear box oil change due to gears feeling crunchy, made a big diffrence now my box feels as smooth as my wifes... well yeh ya get the drift :grin:

Sanded the left hand side of the bay ready for new paint before i put the airbox and afm back in, now have sore fingers :)
