Revo stage 1 here and mine made 230bhp on the rollers. Mine is standard apart from the map. From what I've seen 230ish seems to be the limit of stage 1 tuning on standard GTI's. To get close to 250bhp on a standard GTI you'll need to go for stage 2 and a turbo back exhaust.
Get yours dyno'd and you might be a bit disappointed to find out it's only making close to 230ish..
That said, I am very happy with Revo stage 1. It gives the car more than enough power and torque for me. Although I'll probably get a Milltek and Revo stage 2 when the car is out of warranty.
