not sure if ive read this wrong, but can a used mk4 golf key which was registered in 2000 be recoded to a different car or do you need a virgin chip?
I bought a 2nd hand key on ebay for my 1999 golf and it prog to my car, there are differant types of immo chips though so be carefull...... get the correct chip.... I got my key head part number from my copy of ETKA 7. If you want a pt number to get a key from another source like  http://www.klck-ltd.com/  then give me ya vin and ill look it up for ya. :afro:

the above key has the same frequency and part no. can this be reprogrammed to my car as its already used
The remote part should Re-Prog (as long as pt number the same etc) via the key in the door method, but not sure about the Key Head...

I've got a two button key fob on my 1999 gti, I'm wondering if I can buy a new two button or even 3 button fob from the new mk4's and it will work?

Needing a little help here guys. Got a 2001 Gti. How do I find out if my key is immo2 or immo3.

Part no is: HLO 1JO 959 753 N
Frequency is 434 MHz. Does this mean I'm needing a VW Key fob for 434 MHz? Like this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Golf-2-Button-Key-434-mhz_W0QQitemZ160400043872QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2558966f60

What about the immo2 or immo3 thing though? Help!!!
