all you'll need an adapter pipe to connect the system to the exisitng 1.6 downpipe (if it doesnt already fit)

adapter pipe can be got from VAG for ?8 roughly

You can also use a 1.8 driver downpipe to mate to the rest of the GTI exhaust, or fit a 1.8GTI exhaust manifold and use the whole GTI system.

to  fit it all u need to do is take the inlet manifold off to gain access to all the exhaust nuts, its well worth replacing the whole system with gti if u can, i juat have and its alot better, oh also buy need bolts to hold exhaust on from vag, will make it alot easier
good luck

if ur in no rush to do it maybe might be worth taking the head off and replacing the head gasket too, will make fitting the manifolds back on so much easier too
