Its a bit more than that, I will try and dig up the receipt when I get back from work today. They also do a brake a fluid change and A/C service (optional every 2 years but advised) which add to the cost.

I also have MOT which is being done on Saturday (fingers crossed). Iv spent quite a bit on the motor the last 6 months, all worth every penny.

Brake fluid and A/C work as mentioned in my previous post are extra and not part of the service.

Clearly I intend to phone around a few garages....Sorry OP for the Thread Jack, but it is kind of relevant in terms of costs and awareness of the cambelt issue too.

I may be completely wrong but isn't it that you are advised to inspect the timing belt after 4 years - not necesseraly replace it?

Stealers are fine for warranty work, and I can understand using them for servicing within the warranty period, but in my experience smaller garages that have to earn their reputation rather than buying it are not only cheaper but give much better service.

2 dealers (my local one I went for the service and the one further afield in Maidstone where I bought the car from) have both written to me saying it is advised it be replaced (not inspected). TBH for £300 to get it replaced at the dealers Im just going to do that :)
