Is yours an atmospheric dump valve, or a closed circuit recirculating valve?

The latter is much better, both for power and turbo life!

The valve is OEM just an EVOM's intake.

Ahh right... I was wondering because the original post only mentioned intakes, but TT is talking about dump valves and I was wondering if there was something that I was not aware of

Yes, I was purely asking about the dump valve, not the intake system in general.

Sorry was meant to say the EVOMS makes the dump valve noises and i was just wondering is the Dbilas a quieter intake as it takes air from the front of the car.

Still can't work out what you are saying!

So, are you stating 'my intake system is making noises which sound like a dump valve' ? ??

OR

'My actual dump valve is more noisy, and I was wondering if my intake system was causing this' ? ??

And you still havent answered my earlier question - have you changed your standard DV to an aftermarket one which vents excess boost pressure to the atmosphere?  Or do you still have the standard OEM recirculating cut off valve (where the excess boost pressure is simply recirculated in the intake tract, by diverting it back to the low pressure side of the turbo). ? ??

Sorry should have been clearer. I still have the OEM recirculating valve (g). But the EVOM's cos it's a cone filter makes sounds as if you have one that dumps the air into the atmosphere which sounds a little chav and can get on my nerves. I was just wondering if the Dbilas would be quieter because it's not a cone type and if the flow would be as good as an EVOM's.

An induction sounding like a dump valve...  :undecided:

Yup.. but can't really hear it on the outside so its not too chavvy   Also, I understood you right from the start Micky as I have an EVOMS on my Edition 30.

Wheres the cheapest place to get an EVOMS intake system?

I have found Regal @ £295.00 which is pretty steep for two bits of pipe and a cone air-filter (which is probably sh*te as well).

Depends if the golf runs on a MAF (mass air-flow) or MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. I believe it would be a MAF though.

Power gains? Be surpised if you would see any solid differences between the two setups. HOWEVER, recirculating dump valves with MAF sensors (which I presume the golf is running) tend to return considerably better fuel consumptions.

A 100% atmopsheric dump valve also gives rather lumpy gear changes and I wouldnt think the DSG setup would enjoy this.

Hi Guys,

I run a dibilas intake with forge recirculating valve and it makes a lot of noise on hard acceleration and also on lift off. Like a scream. I am thinking of changing to something quieter to be honest.
