hey. yes i tried searching....

want 5stud on my mk3 tdi, before someone mentions them i dont want adapters (arent keen on with throwing the offset right out)

so what exactly do i need from a gti to swap over.... would also like to point out the tdi has abs and i want to keep that so what do i want on my shopping list?

front hubs
new discs, but will my capilers be ok (much bigger vented discs than my non turbo 1.9d)
driveshafts? straight swap?
rear beam,discs,hubs,calipers etc?

am i missing anything
and would a abs gti rear beam plug and play with my tdi rear abs sensor?

thanks a bunch

I have 2 complete 5 stud front hub set ups if you need them with 288mm discs and calipers etc

Quick question, why do you want to convert to 5 stud, you get a much bigger choice of wheels in 4 stud.

But you will need most or all that you have listed.

  • Back in a Mk3...
the big issue youll have is keeping the current abs as the 5 stud hubs come with the abs rings attached (and i'm unsure if there compatable with an other abs set up) and what year is the car as the 280mm set up uses a load valve thats essential where later 288 models have this built into the calipers

I hate to say but I think keeping the abs means keeping the current brakes (unless your willing to use the relavant abs set up for the 5 stud!)

  • Hello, my name is John and I'm a dub addict.
you need new wishbones as well, driveshafts wont fit 5 stud hubs either so need those too.  Unless you fancy swapping the front anti-roll bar you want the wishbones from a 5 stud passat, 94-97 model.

thanks for all the replys lads, wanted 5 stud as i love the 'old fashioned' style standard gti alloys when slammed. but this is way too much bother espically as iv just replaced a wishbone an hour ago!
