debadge? how to with out damage????

wanting to debadge the gti off boot lid? chemicals? hair dryer?or wot? lol m8 said hair dryer as he was walking towards his mk4 tdi or he said should just come off with a tug(note he happened to hav a flat headed screwdriver in his had at the time) lol i was thinking to my self as he tryed to prize it off that a really bad idea ha ha ha when he broke it and scratched the paint work i should hav told him it not good idea but as matercard said the look on his face when his once spotless paint work had a lovely white scratch was . . . priceless ha ha

Heat it up. Hairdryer or hot air gun if you are careful. Then just pull. You can use a screwdriver, but you would just keep it on the edge of the badge, and don't touch the paint with it. Not prying, just using it to pull.

I found using a hairdryer to heat the glue making it more flexible and loose, and the try ripping it off, failing that, some sort of string, there will be residue of the sticky bit left on the car, so to remove mine I used kitchen roll and window cleaner until it was all off

Boiling water from the kettle. . . pour over and as you are doing it grip the badge with a pair of pliers. . .  pull and off it comes. . t-cut the area to get rid of the grime and perfect!!

You should see the state of my numberplate area behind the plate surrounds, good job they are covered lol!

No issues, took off my Golf badge with a hot air gun and screwdriver.

Just careful, you use the screwdriver just on the edge of the badge, theres like a 1mm gap, just don't touch paintwork.

Hmm, on the GL, it has a spoiler and mudflaps. Loose the Golf badge or not? Can't de-wiper, mum likes her rear wiper.

yeah as stated hair dryer will be fine, mine actually just came off without any heating!!!!

i de badged my company mk 4 using a thin screwdriver and did it right...carefully and without even touching the paint work, even got all the letters off wiothout breaking them... can easily be done this way if you know what your doing
