Is yours the same colour as mine chap? If so what reg? I think my paint code is somthing like LC6P or something, there's a sticker in the boot of your car that has it on, underneath the carpet :)

Damn I got it right lol! It's Dragon Green but I heard there are too shades, the early models had a slightly lighter shade whereas the later models (ie mine being a 1996) had a slightly darker shade. I actually had a badgeless grill sprayed for me, the chap took my petrol flap to Halfords to get the paint mixed and it was a perfect match.

I'm in the same position as you, need to touch up the rust. Summer job that though.

My car has done 130k  :shocked: but still pulls strong.
Its due some TLC this week when I get paid, new filters, plugs, and leads and oil change for being a good girl.
And aye mine is dragon green as well.

had this mk 3 over 2 years now, not once broken down, only ever had one problem which was the ignition switch but it didnt stop me using the car when it happened,  i got it in bits at the roadside and figured out if i held the wire that goes to the ignition switch it would start and drive.. so i tied it to another wire and drove it for 2 weeks like this till i got round to fixing it hahahaha..

Got back last night after driving to and from Norwich to Cognac in South France in my 96 16v GTi
Car sat at 80mph most of the way  :laugh: and was returning 38mpg on the way down and 36mpg on up.

EPIC, I bet the loss in mpg on the way back had something to do witteh amounto beer/wine on board!!!!  :laugh:

Going to France in May with the family, but I'm taking the diesel people carrier  :rolleyes:
