  • Back in a Mk3...
Thought I should update this.....with some mixed news!! The red material i got was totally unsuitable to trimming (despite being assured it was ideal!!) so I'm looking for some new red (maybe cloth?) and they can get done.

But I have started with some black cloth and have covered the bottom trays, handle surrounds and window switch cover.. I have my old interior all ready to use still but using the correct cloth is really important (I feel for trimmers after trying for hours to make it all look good!!)

oh yeah autoglym tar remover is the best glue remover ever!

You should change the LEDs in the switches. Easy to do, but looks awesome. I've been doing it. All's gone well, but then I blew 4 LEDs by mistake.

SO ANNOYING as I only ordered 10. Would of been just enough.

Red window switches, blue AC buttons ect with red indicator (when it's on) and either a cabrio red heater controls or a Kells treatment blue.

Really looks great, so glad I'm doing it now. Got passenger one to do, fix the window switch and then all the AC buttons and rear window ect. Then the dials, cabrio headlight switch and I MIGHT try heater controls, but probably get Kells to do it.

What has this got to do with a re-trim project?  :undecided:

Looking very good BB, what did you use to stick the material? I read on edition someone who spoke about this 'toffee' stuff which is apprently the dogs danglies.  In the summer I'm definitely going to attempt this when i put some comps in..

Also what tools did you use? a sharp scalpel?
