@ Dogbucket - Brilliant!! Where's the jumping up and down for joy smilie!?

As I was reading the spec I thought to myself this is a car I would want! DBP as well!

It may take quite a few miles but you'll get used to all the combinations of DSG selection you can choose. Example: Gently cruising through 30mph zone....Change into M as your shoulders get level with the GLF sign....Accelerate and use gears via paddleshifters exactly as you would a conventional manual....Pop into S-mode as you approach a very busy 5-exit roundabout....Ready to choose your moment for safe progress....As your V6 revs sing towards the red line, be prepared to slip her back into M again....Select D as you join a very slow moving traffic queue or enter a village. And you can chop and change and override any of the modes as you desire.

You'll either love it and never want another car without it or its equivalent, or hate it and sell the car as soon as you can! But persevere.

hopefully getting her on Wednesday

RR - yes I am on TSN, although not so much recently. We actually met briefly at the first south downs meet when I had my mk4.

Stoopid question, but it has not got an 'M' position because I asked that? Do you mean using a paddle on the wheel and or moving the stick to +- ?

*Shameless Plug*

There will be some ED30 Milltek bits in the classified next week

You bought it without going into S

haha your in for such a treat mate! Im only a week in and S still catches me out and makes me laugh like a 5 year old

Not interested in a MkV R32 but am looking to shift my ED30 for a 130i M Sport.I think i preferred my Golf V5 to my ED30.Never had the MkIV R32 but found the Golf V6 4mo i had rather soft. The GTi/ED30 are both very good cars as we all know and do pretty much everything rather well, maybe a little to well for me though, if you catch my drift..

Im sorry, have I got this right? You preferd your MKIV V5 (commonly known as the 2nd worst MKIv after the 2.0) than your MKV GTI ? I shall refrain from going mental until I have clarified what you said.

 Saying you wont like the MK5 R32 because your Golf V6 4mo was soft, is like saying you wont like a bmw M3 because the 325i wasnt very special  :undecided:

tbh I already knew what the performance of an R32 is like, so was more interested in cruising and comfort. Well and I forgot

....I'd hopefully remember if we met again - Sorry!

We have some great little meets around Brighton and Portsmouth areas (BIALI / TSN) - You probably know Dan and Jimmy and Roy (all modified Mk4 .:R32 boyz).

Stoopid question, but it has not got an 'M' position because I asked that? Do you mean using a paddle on the wheel and or moving the stick to +- ?

....No not stupid at all. If it's DSG it will most definitely have an M position! It's to the left of D. The person who told you it doesn't is the stoopid one! [I can't find a pic right now]

Yes, paddles on the steering wheel. You can also shift with the floor stick 'tiptronically' - Yet another option!

Ooops! I'm now very confused - I couldn't see M on the GTI in that vid.

I didnt comment it as a bad thing mate! I think it shows just how good the R32 is if you didnt even use S

Its louder and much more responsive in S

.....Correct.What is there not to like about the V5 2.3ltr engine with its off-beat warble at idle and then really glorious sound at 3500&4000rpm.For your information the 170PS version firmed up with aftermarket dampers would give the Mk IV GTi 1.8T a run for its money&with a much sweeter soundtrack.
I would assume from your comments you have never actually owned one?
