Did you get one ?

I'm after one , and someone near Swindon who can fit it ....i'm useless with anything like that!

Its a piece of pi$$ mate, they are plug and play, just take out the old one, pull out the wires, and then plug in the new one.

I bought mine from the bay.  It came from Lithuania, and cosy me £499 posted.  It is a true Version b too.

I now have upgraded to the SW 1100 version, with speed camera locations.  Thank to another member.

So the bay is your friend, I have just looked and the chap I bought from does not have any listed.

hi mate .... what was the condition like , i noticed that it isn't a new item , it's like new he says.  Do you know if there is a problem with the unit would i be able to take it to VW , would it be covered with warranty !

What is the update you put on  ? ,

Can anyone show me what 3D mode is like ? , i'm so used to using a TomTom.

Will it matter if i don't have a MFSW and highline (wish i did , but didn't know about it until i brough the car!)

Condition was as new.  The update was to go to the latest edition.

Warranty - Not sure, Mine is working just fine.  So cannot comment.

3D mode is much the same as TT 3D

I have not got MFSW or Highline, the 510 is THE best thing I have bought for the car.

you will never be able to claim on the warranty, unless you buy from VW.  especially as a load of these units were stolen a few years ago.

Only problem is that VW still insist on charging the full £1800?? for the unit. So in reality you could go through 3 ebay units and still end up evens.

I got mine from the bay and have not had any problems with it. Even updated the firmwear to the version B unit a couple of weeks ago and its been working brilliantly  Will take it across to the MK6 also... best investment I have made by far! not many people upgrade to the RNS510 and regret it

with current serial numbers i think thats unluckly

As stokeballon has said, i done the same, mint condition and ebay seller has his own warranty included, and has replaced mine with a Brand New unit, due to Refurb having incorrect motherboard installed making it not sync with my Multi function steering wheel. Even a plastic protector on the screen with VW Warranty sticker  seal untouched .Mine was 6 months old when it had a fault, and it was fully replaced by the Powerseller on ebay no quibble.

Doesnt mean when you spend over a grand on one 2007GTi like you did, doesnt make all others on ebay for half that either stolen and some cases Refurbs with no warrantys.

Feedback from fellow forum users is your best bet to find best seller with good History, rather then looking at sometimes corrupt feedback info stats on ebay itself.

The fact I spent a grand 2 years ago, when they were rare, has nothing to do with Phil.  There were like rocking horse sh!t then, no one had them.  I agree feedback is worth checking, my point about warranty is that buying on ebay is a risk, like anything not from an official source.  AS for stolen ones, thats anyones guess, for all I know the one I got for Germany was stolen, who knows!  Yours could be too, have you seen a receipt of where he/she purchased it from, they don't fall out of the sky!  :-)

I bought my MFD2 from an ebay seller called Tomstoms_1.  It is a refurbed unit from VW (or their suppliers anyway) with the official stickers indicating that.  I was aware before I bought that this was the case so no issues there.  Excellent communication from that seller (Lithuania) and delivery exactly when he said it would be with a tracking number.  He sells RNS510's from time to time as well.

Unfortunately I just missed out on Phils when he was selling his
