You probably know this, but go down a scrappy and get any old bonnet or door to practice on first.  Interesting youtubes:

we'll i have bought all this stuff.....so when the weather improves it's time for machine polishing

(oh I used autoperfection and got the 3 sample's, some clay lube, 3m tape all for under £20 delivered  and it was here next day.......)
