only thing that varries is the front axel load differs between models   what whith the lump being heavier

ull be asked is it up to or above 960kg's    1.4 - 2.0 l's are up to 960kgs  petrol only      desiels im not so sure about but  ovbs the v5 an v6 are heavier than the 4 pots.....

the weight makes the front end sit down more so springs are suited to heavier cars

so if you wanted theres nuffin stopping you puttin 1.4 shocks etc on a gt tdi 150 ps

this is my car mate, lowered on 40mm as i said with the 18's , is that the look u want my man?
u havent got a bang side on photo have you ?

ive bought coilovers but i wanna know how much to lower by  looking for some inspuration

that is spot on :smiley:  those are the wheels i was looking at getting.
i like the "on the deck" look but would like some comfort aswell, lol

Your best bet is 18's lowered 40mm

Thats the most common set-up that people go for

It's what I have on mine - and is the best compromise for comfort and looks!

there are a few golfs floatin around with air bag suspension, lookkss ace, but sh!t ride and costs thousands!
