Ah Avon Rise has been the death of many a car. Hit the brakes on that and you are going nowhere but straight into the tyre wall. Best bet is to hit the brakes a bit before to scrub off some speed then hit em again once you've come off the other side. If you're feeling really mental keep the throttle buried over the rise then totally hammer mash the middle peddle as soon as you feel the suspensionload up again.
A couple of years back at a Miniworld Action Day I saw a young guy of maybe 18 lose his mums brand new MKIV GTi on that corner. It was trailered off and on closer inspection even the roof was rippled. It must have been written off. He was set next to it crying. It bacame apparent he had no track day cover and his mum didn't even know he'd borrowed it.
I'd loved to have been a fly on the wall when he got home!
