piggy back chip Mk2 16v
« on: 10 January 2004, 17:51 »
Sorry probably a really simple question but my knowledge of engines is absolutely zero. Could any one tell me where the (IAT) intake air temperature sender is located on a Mk 2 16 valver. I have got a piggy back chip to fit and have no idea where to plug it in. Thanks ???

Don't think the mk2 16v with bosch k jet has a intake temp sensor  ::).

i didnt think so either, isnt k-jet part -mechanical? i know its got an airflow sensor, i thought the only thing you could do is fit a k star to sort the pinking/unleaded thing. not certain about this one tho

K star chip perhaps? When I bought mine was told it was chip. Turned out to be a K star chip. lol

yeah but its not really a chip , more of a plug in unit, I suppose some people might call it "chipped" to make it sound a bit posher as a sale point.

MK2 16v DEFINATELY does not have an IAT sensor. The vr6 does, it on the inlet manifold.
