it'll make more sense out of the MOdded one - coz vr6 thinks he has a point.

well if your on about air flow meters then I am afraid it is you mr shady who gets it wrong.
Lets look at the facts.
Air entering the engine is measured by the "air flow meter" This on early cars measures velocity and amount and on the later hot wire equiped cars it also measures air temperature.
Right so the metering unit supplies fuel in proportion to the amount of air entering the engine. So in theory if you increase the airflow, you will in turn increase the fueling slightly so the point you put across as running leaner isnt exactly true now is it.
When you fight a sports air filter all you are doing is increasing the breathing capabilities of the said engine and the metering unit is more than capable of dealing with it.
The clue is in the name "metering unit"
