Bought this today, 8 valve GTI with a heead gasket problem. Interior is in fantastic condition for 177,000 miles and 3 previous owners.

The Mk2 makes a good track weapon. Get a 2litre 16v engine in there and tune it up to 170bhp.

There's a few guys on here who do track sessions in their Golfs, including Diamond Hell with a Mk2 Syncro that he's taken round the 'ring. See: http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=72724.0
