Last winter was bad for the poorburg carburettor, but this year the car is fully winter prepped!
...shame I've just bought a jetta run-around with a poorburg carb to drive during winter!
^^^ Good luck with that! How do you fully winter prep an old car though without missing something?
Service the engine, check the carburettor is running correctly, check there's no leaks anywhere and that the airbox is pulling the hot air from the engine with the flap correctly. Seal and wax the paintwork, waxoyl inside the arches, the coilover threads and any other bits that are easy to get to including some bits in the engine bay like around the battery, etc. Stick my winter steel wheels on which have been jetsealed and waxed on (much easier to keep nice than BBS RAs!) Check there's no leaks from the sunroof or drainage hole, etc. and it's pretty much ready for winter!
