trim always fetches good money on rado forums, electric mirror setup fits right into a mk2 except of course the actual mirrors and glass.  if it has electric windows the 1 touch loom and control unit will also fit a mk2, and is a nice touch.  Not the regualtors though, you wire the rado loom to the mk2 golf window regualtors

only issue is if its a later one the switches arnt so easy to fit, the early ones you hack a square hole in de dorrcard and they pop right in.  later ones arnt so good a fit in a dorrcard

i never knew that, think ill be treating my mk2 golf to leccy mirrors from my recent corrado purchase

passat stuff also works, the switch is a different shape to a mk2 but electrically its the same. the motors from inside the mirrors on passat/rado fit mk2 housings, so the onlyt bt you wont have is the heated glass!  I managed to find a geeza on ebay who sold pads that stick on the back of the glass, I needed one as my passenger glass was on the ropey side!
You need to peel off the plastic backing from the glass and insert the pad then stick the backing back on.  My method was to place the glass face down on a flat surface to support it, then pull on the plastic bit gently till it pops off.  hold the glass flat down as you do this to stop it bending otherwise it'll crack.

I found it works just as well as my genuine driver side glass
