You should be able to get 35-40 mpg taking it easy in the 1.8 T, so I expect there's a prob, unless u use more throttle in the golf, w/o realizing?? :undecided:

I get 35-40 easily ever since a good service. On a run can see late 40s from my 1.8 T.

wish i did only way i'd see that in my 1.8t is by pushing it :grin:

Late 40's?! So you mean 47-48 and so on? I got 44MPG out of mine and that was 60mph down the motorway and very slow around town. You're looking at the journey average aren't you?
