Tuning or engine conversion?
« on: 23 October 2008, 14:15 »
What are people doing to tune there standard 16v's? i dont plan spending more than £600 if im going to spend more than £800 id rarther pay a bit more and look at other engine conversions.

basicaly i would prefer to get a nice power boost with £800 but know nothing of tuning mk2 golfs.

as for engine conversions how much would it cost to fit a 1.8 turbo from the newer golfs?

Alot for 1.8T conversions, but then it depends how much you can do yourself. Probably looking at £3k upwards
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

Four £800 you could get a VR6 in there

Maybe an ABF (depending on how cheaply you can source the parts)

the 1.8T's as said you're looking in excess of £3k just for the engine.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
