2ltr conversion in a MK1 Cab - HOW???

Hi All.

Heard somewhere (c'ant remember though) that you can use a 2ltr bottom end from another golf and install into a MK1. I want to use the original head and manifolds, as at some point they look like they have been ported etc. Can anyone tell me which bottom end I need and any other parts I need to swap, so I can start sourcing.

Have looked at the tsr conversions etc - but a bit pricy for me - gonna have to be a diy job.

Look for a Audi 3A block, same block height as your engine. This will look standard .
