cv gator
« on: 19 October 2008, 21:31 »
was just checking my tyre pressures there and noticed some clumps of grease on the inside of one of the front wheels...looks like the cv rubber gator at the hub end of the driveshaft has split around the clip that grips the top end of it to the driveshaft..

car is only 3 1/2 years old...is this a common thing ?...will it have caused damage losing the grease so far ?...will try and get it booked in this week

very cmmon on mk 5 golfs because they are plastic not rubber. should not have caused any damage to the joint but get it changed soon. it will only run dry of grease after a while.
If your buying im selling!!!!!!!
