Mine's a 2006 6spd manual. I'd say I average 28mpg with mixed town/dual carriageway and the occasional bit of motorway. I do about 1500 miles a month like that. Tank is the same as the GTI, 50L? 55L? can't remember.
(The DSG R32's for some reason are a couple of mpg down on the manuals)

to tell you the truth mate, id probs go with the R32 as they are so cheap at the moment and its a whole lot of car for the prices you can pick the up for!! if i were buying a gti now, i would defo research the R aswell, but remember tax is abit silly  :wink:

If you miss your VR6 that much and want an awesome zhaust note get an R32  :drool: (or an R36 Passat  :lipsrsealed: )

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.
