that is just nuts !

Jesus, there is a serious amount of pure sh!t posted on PistonHeads.  The simple fact which they have got completely wrong, is the fact that the 265PS S3 engine has its own specifically re-inforced crankcase and bed plate.  This is NOT shared with either the Ed30 nor the Cupra.  However, my guess is that just like the cars used in the official Seat Cupra Championship, the cars will actually use the S3 engine in the Cupra body, and tune it appropriately.

Agreed about the cr@p on Pistonheads but that's just typical of internet forums.

I reckon it's just a re-mapped Cupra in the same vein as the 240bhp Golf GTI they released over there. I'm guessing here (any Dutch members confirm?) that VW and SEAT in Clogland use the same importer which isn't directly owned by the mother company like here in the UK.....

i know that the cars can get remapped to 300bhp but the fact this one comes with a warrenty, would really add a little peace of mind.

How come we get a Pirelli edition  but no power upgrade !

Sort of.  But PH is just a "generic" or "one size fits all" type of forum, with no real marque-specific in-depth expertise.  TyreSmoke is nearly as bad.  And the fact that they are both "commercial" sites, and are simply allowing joe public to swell the coffers of their own company bank balances is one reason why I wont use either (even though I am registered on both).  One of them sites is actually owned by a company which Michael Hesletine is a Director - he is fcukin rich enough.

Stay here and help swell JVs coffers!

Nope, if it is an "official" Seat car, complete with a full pan-European manufacturers warranty, it will have to use the S3 BHZ donkey, which is said by Audi insiders to be able to cope with around 450PS reliably.

TT, you say S3 engine, due to some of the improvements specific to it, can cope reliably with 450hp.
What about E30 engine, what are the margins there, in your opinion?
