Oil

I am going to do a oil and filter change on the golf this weekend.

What is the best oil in your opinion, I was looking at the Castrol Magnatec any good??,

I've just had an oil and filter change done on my cab the other week, I used a genuine VW oil filter because it has the non return valve on it and I also used VWs own Quantum oil, can't remember the viscosity of it but it's in a silver container, 500 something I think it was, this was the oil that my VW garage recomended for me (well they would wouldn't they!). If this oil is rubbish and anyone knows which is better then I'd be interested to know too.

I used shell oil in my golf..........it was more reasonable in price than halfords own brand even!!!

Castrol Magnetex

Use Quantum oil, silver or gold.
It does seem to work well in older cars as well, as in the car seems to have less oil consumption.
