mk3 same as mk2 cam belt to change????

just brought my '93 golf,its only done 55,000 but been told its prob best to change the cam belt as it should be changed every 4 years or 80,000 miles
i know mines only done 55,000 but wanted to do it for a piece of mind(if you know what i mean)
my brother has a mk2 & he says he should be able to do it as its pretty much the same.........
is it????????

Yes apart from you'll have to deal with your power steering setup. Look in the haynes but it's not much harder.

It's very similar, but bear in mind that the belt is different to the Golf2 as the block is 15mm taller.
