Hi there - Just obtained a Mk3

After 2 months of nagging I've finally managed to turn my missus into us getting a 3rd car.  She would only have a Mk3 tho.  I've spent the last few weeks looking at a lot of Mk3 GTI's under £1k.  There was quite a lot of dross. 

But then yesterday I jumped on this:

12 Months MOT, 4 Months tax, FSH, every MOT from new, A/C, but needs a gas, cambelt 2 years ago, well cared for, if not a little pinky/orangey that the Flash Reds go.

Not bad value at £800.. I couldn't believe my luck, drove it back last night for 30 miles, perfect drive.

I haven't had a dub for about 6 years... I've really missed them, and the scene.. Once it's had a service, re-gas and a weekend of paint restoration it should be fabulous!

Yup, the body is remarkably straight.  I had to act quick to get it...  I should be doing the garden this weekend but I've got a feeling I'm going to be trying to get the paint all the same red rather than orangey 

All I have to do now is convince my accounts department at work to let me swap my company car for my ex-colleagues silver Ed30 that's sitting in the car park and I'll be over the moon.  Thing is, in the year he had it his house was broken into 3 times trying to get the keys to it.
