Ok i took my car to a mechanic mate at the weekend to change me brake pads, i told him that i have been recently getting some knocking while changing gear and reversing etc and when we checked the engine mounts it looked like there was a fair bit of play in the front one. We decided to try and tighten it and in doing so the bolt on the underside (hex type head) has sheared off.
I have ordered a replacement engine mount but i dont think it comes with the bolt, as i didnt look at it myself im not sure of the hole that the bolt goes through is part of the car or part of the replacment mount?? Will i need to order a new bolt or do they normally come with the engine mount kit?
If the hole is part of the car im guessing i will need to drill it out somehow, any help would be greatly appreciated as at the moment im driving with a bit of rope tying the mount down until i can get it fixed!!! (need to get to work).
