WHat's worth? Short MOT, cambelt a tooth out, bald tyre, needs new windscreen, short tax, blowing exhaust. £500 max I would say. Get it through an MOT and tax it and it's probably worht £1K - £1.2K but then you'll have spent loads of money and have a car that works fine.

Hrm yeah but for how long... The car hasn't had a good track record. I'd rather get rid than have the uncertainty of future repair costs.

I've also had the cambelt sorted but hasn't come to anything with regard to the rev limiter. This included all the tensioners etc.. I have considered just hanging on to the car and declaring it off the road while i complete repairs myself via walkthroughs and forums. That way at least i could have a nice project car and hang on to the gti community. Any money i get from this car is a bonus anyway.. its trying to convince my mum to let me keep the car at her house that would be the issue here

Pity you're not down my way mate, got 3 or 4 excelletn VW specialists who woul dhave most of the problems sorted in a day and for less than you might think. Always worth looking to see if you have any in your local area that other dubbers recomend.

Shame to get rid matey,I think a few people on here would class your problems as normal. To be perfectly honest i would just repair it or at least do a few bits. The better it is the more its worth, you never know once it gets a bit better you might want to keep it.
