288mm brake conversion

is it possible to use the caliper carriers of mk4 golf 288mm brakes
on a mk3 gti 16 valve i have a spare set of my recently sold mk4 turbo
seems a shame to waste them

Yes they are the same part.

The discs are differant though, they are set 6mm further back, the set back is allowed with the caliper carrier mounting surface and not the carrier. The calipers are also the same but with a slightly differant thread size for the brake hose bolt.
