No, I said et al - this includes driveshafts and other stuff.  Not something I've bothered with, but it is an option.

I was joking, innit

Don't joke about the scene.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Chuck Norris' first job was a paper round. There were no survivors

I'd go for wider using the method DH described

taking this thread back on topic away from the ginga nutter...

i looked into widetrack a while ago and you can go for either passat gear or mk3 golf stuff although depending on the donor being 4 stud or 5 stud the hubs are different meaning the mk3 wishbones wont fit the mk2 hubs so you have to chage them over aswell. from what i read passat stuff seems the better option, and you need to get the bones, track rods and driveshafts of the passat. also the mk3 driveshaft inner flanges dont all mate up to mk2 gearboxes iirc??? the passat ones are fine though its a sraight swap. the only problem with the passat wishbones is that theres no hole cut into them to poke a extender bar through to take your front bumper off. but they're alot more rigid than the mk2 bones. not sure about arb's though? i dont think they fit directly in but i'm not sure tbh. i know its blasphemous but club gti how loads of info on it last time i checked. theres some good stuff on here to.

the only thing is trying to locate all the passat parts and i suppose i dont go out of my my to look for them but my local breakers hs never had one in since i've been going to him!

surely running spacers will only be the same as runnign a lower number offest wheel

for example a 10mm spacer would be the same as runnig a ET25 wheel over my stgandard ET35 wheel ????

rubjonny - views please

Chuff, if ET25 wheels make it wider, get ET25 wheels and spacers :afro:
