In the fezza, there was a bit in the manual for speed ranges in which a certain gear was suitable. Was useful to know this, though in the end I found my own gear range:
Fezza:
1st..........0-20mph
2nd.........10-40mph
3rd..........21-60mph
4th..........26-75mph
5th..........40mph+
