Just got a phone call from a chap who is coming to look at her today!

Just goes to show what an MOT does for it (cheers Rhyso). He asked me when the cam belt had been done it, I obviusly have no idea off the top of my head, I asume this will all be in the service book back home wont it?

Fingers crossed for me guys.

It should be in the record as a tick box for the service and hipefully youhave a reciept for the actual work as the tickbox could be ticked by anyone.

His coming up from West Maling which is a bit of a trek but his looking at a few other cars in my area aswell, so I doubt I will get a yes or no there and then :( but its a start. I had another call from a some doppy bird yesterday who wanted to know what the CO2 output was and apparently 192 is too high for her.

Sounds like people are starting to look into these things before buying cars now which is good for them but bad for anyone selling a car which will cost £400 to tax. What year is yours Alan?

lol 192 is NOT in the £400 bracket. I think its something like 240 + that falls into this bracket (R32 btw). Mine was / is £210 for the year. There was a break down of the new tax costs in EVO mag the other month was an interesting read.

Yeah, through with no problems. They made recomendation that I will need to new tyres soon which I knew about, but they are still a pass. Wiper blades are also split which makes it squeek but they still wipe the rain away so its also a pass. Other than that she was clean as a whistle.

Yeah I know it's not that high mate but people are running scared! Just looked it up and in 2010 it'll be £270. Ouch!

Yeah, the MK5 falls into the same bracket. I think the MK5 is actually LESS at 189 or something like that, but it still falls into the same bracket. Im pretty sure the 1.8T are there or there abouts too? There is a massive protest in London today about the cost of fuel. All the lorries are blocking the streets up causing chaos (luckyily its not around the east end of town where I work). They want to goverment to rethink this new tax scheme, doubt anything will come of it, but its good to see people making a stand. On the radio this morning they interviewed this chap and his companies fuel cost had gone up as much as £40,000 a month more than it was in October. Crazy stuff, and then on top that they want to tax us even more.
