mk3 with a gti carb

Hi my friend recently got a golf mk3 1.4L with a gti carb
and wud like 2 kno if he can keep this carb on or if he can only have an ordinary 1 on it
 the problem is wen u leave it tickin over the car judders and is on about 800/900 rpm and sometimes it stalls

any help wud be great

The MK3 Is Fuel injection as standard.  Although it is only single point
There is no such thing as a GTI Carb,  ALL Golf GTI's are Fuel injection but they are Multi point injection

There is no way of fitting a GTI injection system to a 1.4L engine.   I think hes been fooled!  and if its running bad, there is a problem with the injeciton system.

These have one of two engines.

ABD Single point engine (Pre 95 models)
AEX Multi point engne (Post 95 models)

the AEX has an air filter which makes many people thing it is carb'd if you dont know what your looking at and some people will fit bike carbs or twin choke webbers to get more power but you would know if that was the case!

thanx 4 the reply but my mates golf is not a gti if ur assuming it and its a year 95

the person he brought it off said he put a gti carb on and it does feel more powerfull
but it feels like it goes 2 cut out and sometimes it does
